The cost is $200 per session and payment is due at the time of service. However, I partner with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients submit claims to their insurance company to get reimbursed quickly, if you have out-of- network benefits.
You can click the link below to calculate your out of pocket costs and reimbursement rates before you get started, to determine if this is a good option for you.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. It is important to me that therapy is accessible and affordable to everyone.
Sessions are usually 50-55 minutes.
I ask that you give at least 24-hours notice when you are unable to attend an appointment. This will give me an opportunity to offer the session to someone else in need.
There is a $95 cancellation fee if you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your appointment or if you do not show up for your session.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for a session, this will be considered a no show and will also result in a $95 fee.
Frequent cancelations or no shows may result in loss of scheduled time slot or termination of treatment.
There are benefits to both being in person in a cozy, confidential office, as well as to being able to meet over video in the comfort of your own home or in your car on your lunch break. I am open to whatever works best for you. You can change locations from week to week, as long as we plan it in advance.
Some things to keep in mind:
· Telehealth video sessions are a great option for anyone who does not live close to my office in Watertown, CT.
· Telehealth sessions are a good option when you are not feeling well or if there is bad weather. In fact, I may reschedule in person sessions to video sessions on snowy days.
· Telehealth sessions are great for parents/caregivers who would like to meet with me regarding their child’s treatment. Many parents find it helpful to meet during a lunch break or while their child is at school.
· All telehealth video sessions need to take place in a safe, private area, free of distractions so that you can talk openly without others overhearing you and you can focus.
· You have to be in CT in order for the video session to occur.
· I find that telehealth works best for ages 15 and up. I utilize mostly play therapy for younger children and it is much easier to do that in person. However, I am open to doing telehealth with younger children once a relationship has been established, and on an as needed basis.
·Some people find being in the office creates a safe space away from others so that they can talk openly without worrying about if anyone can hear what they are saying. It is a great way to take time for yourself and not be distracted.
I charge $100/hr for clinical supervision of LMSW professionals.
We do not have an after hours on call service. If you or a loved one are having an emergency, please call 211, 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Mandated Reporting Policy
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding the mandated reporting of suspected abuse or neglect. This policy outlines the responsibilities of mandated reporters within our organization to protect the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, including children, elderly adults, and individuals with disabilities.
Who Is a Mandated Reporter?
All staff members who provide direct services—including but not limited to therapists, case managers, administrative staff with access to client disclosures, and interns—are considered mandated reporters under Connecticut law.
What Must Be Reported
Mandated reporters are required to report any reasonable suspicion or knowledge of:
Child abuse or neglect
Abuse or neglect of elderly individuals
Abuse or neglect of adults with disabilities
This includes:
Physical abuse
Sexual abuse
Emotional/psychological abuse
Neglect (failure to provide food, shelter, medical care, supervision, etc.)
Financial exploitation (in applicable populations)
When to Report
A report must be made immediately or as soon as practicably possible after becoming aware of or suspecting abuse or neglect. In some cases, a written report must follow within a specified time frame, in accordance with state law.
How to Report
Reports are made to one of the following, depending on the situation:
Child Protective Services (CPS)
Adult Protective Services (APS)
Law Enforcement
Legal Protections
Mandated reporters who make a report in good faith are protected from legal liability, even if the report is not substantiated. However, failure to report suspected abuse or neglect may result in legal consequences, including possible fines or criminal charges.
Confidentiality
Reports are confidential. Mandated reporters are not expected to investigate but only to report concerns. The identity of the reporter is generally kept confidential unless disclosure is required in legal proceedings.
